A word from my Sponsor ...or really just my Mom

Hi everyone !
I'm going to take over Chandlers blog for just a little post this afternoon.Today I came across a blogpost that was unexpected over at one of my (and Chandlers) favorite blogs. The Bumpass Hounds . They asked for their readers to come give Chandler some love, support and cheering up !

I can't even begin to express how much this means to me. This has been a tough emotional roller coaster ride for our family. Many of our friends don't understand exactly how much he's become a part of our family. They thinks of their "animals" as just an animal.  I found this wonderful community of "dog blogging" and knew I wanted to be a part of it. My only regret is not finding it sooner.  I think helping Chandler with his blog has become a sort of therapy through this journey that will not end with Chandler but continue with both Hannah and Henry as well.

You may notice that when Chandler is posting he is full of happiness - all the time ! He has been that way since he was a puppy. It's been a joke between myself and my husband that Chandler would be happy if someone broke his leg because they would still be touching him. His tail is always wagging and even through this journey his happy and cheerful spirit remains.

The next few weeks will be tough and I can't tell you how much everyones support and encouragements means both to Chandler and the rest of our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts !

  1. Our Mom says she could have said everything you have said here last summer when we had to say good bye to our sweet Dakota. The support from the blogging community is just fantastic. We will be here with our paws crossed and our Mom's good thoughts and prayers that your time with Chandler is special for all of you.

  5. Dog blogging! Who would have though, huh? You're so right. What a crazy loving group we all are. I was totally blown away by Chandler's awesomely perky post about his predicament. He's not the only cool guy in your pack. You must be someone special too, my mom said so. My mom also has a tough time explaining this to her skeptic friends, but by now she's given up. Those of us in here, know and appreciate the value of it all.
Thinking of you and wishing for the best outcome possible. Remember, we know we're loved and we know to trust you to make decisions for us. So, trust yourselves, our beloved humans :)

  6. Our Goldens are our life, people that don't understand or say it's just an animal "just don't get it".
We all support each other and I have not met a more caring or loving group of people anywhere like those who are the Dog Bloggers.
We pray each day for Chandler and for you and your family and we all will be by your side.

  7. We too have found blogging to be an unusual outlet and surprising source of support. Amazing how people you've never actually met can comfort you like they are family! My dogs are my "kids", but still I can only guess at what an emotional experience this is for you. Hope that Chandler's happiness can continue to make you smile!

  8. From Sierra's peep:
Our family is so new to doggy blogging, but we are amazed! So many great people- even our own families are not as supportive of our blogging with pictures and stories as the "strangers" who are now friends that we have found here.
Chandler has been in our thoughts a lot lately, and therefore in our prayers. We know that you will continue to enjoy every last moment you have with him. He is obviously a very special dog. We love his happy posts and hope for many more to come. When it is time to say Goodbye we will be here to cry with, and to smile through the tears with while reading his blog and remembering all the fun and laughter he has brought into your (and our) lives. Thank you for letting us be a part of that.

  12. Hey Mom, and Chandler, Hannah & Henry,
All 13 of us furkids and our mom & dad are with you in your ordeal. We have personally had to deal with this type of situation before (read our very first blog post). Dad says that it's good for him and mom to know that they aren't the only peeps who consider us furries to be true family members. We have lost many really true canine & feline friends that we never actually met but knew better than a lot of our neighbors and family members (Spencer, Ziggy, Snickers, Golden Honey, Cyrstal & Agnes just to name a few). We grieved for each of them as our own family members; Rusty, Penny, Chance, Gordon). DWB is one big family, even those guys that aren't in your immediate circle. We used to favor just Goldens but then we got taken in by "other types" of guys like Gus, Teka, Tank, Fred, Khrya, Kat, Steve, Mogley, Samantha, Dave, Ammy, Zim, Stormy, Huffle, and a whole lot of them other kinds of dogs and cats. We have discovered that even though we're all different, we're all kinda the same. And Muzzer, Old Girl, and all the other moms and dads are pretty much just like youse guys and our mom and dad. Dad says that he can say things to DWBers about us and through us that he would be hesitant to say to most people at his work because they just wouldn't understand. So please don't hesitate to reach out to any DWB followers should you ever feel the need. Maybe there isn't a lot that this DWB bunch of loonies can do to help but they will always be there for support. Max, our South African tour guide blog buddy, is right now facing the same situation as you Chandler and we're all pulling for him just as we're pulling for you. All Dogs Go To Heaven.

  14. Dear Chandler and family,
The Conifer (Colorado) crew is sending you lots of love and wishes that these last weeks are happy and filled with joy and love. We also had the benefit of having Samson our first golden with us during his final weeks with Cancer - the time couldn't have been more precious. Chandler is so very lucky to have a family who will be right there with him and he will know as he makes that final journey that your love goes with him.
Happy Trails Chandler - When you do get to the Bridge, say a special hello to Samson, Carmel and Kingsley from the Conifer Crew.
