Why is the considered a trick and not cruelty ?

Learning to leave it, originally uploaded by Mssslaydbug.

Do you see the treats my mom has laid out on the floor in front of Henry and I ? She says she is working on "Leave it" with Henry and I'm a good example.

I've always wondered about this so called trick ?! It's cruel. Why take my favorite things, put them right in front of my face and tell me not to touch them ?

I wonder how she would feel is I brought home some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and waved them around her face while telling her not to touch them !!! I bet she wouldn't last very long playing the "leave it" game !!

Anyway, eventually I did get the treat but had to wait for Henry to understand what was going on and he was being a little wiggle worm !!

  1. I am with you Chandler...The worst is when Mama puts my favorite greenie treat out and makes me leave it like FOREVER (ok...Mama says maybe 5 seconds)before releasing me to get it....sigh

Mom always whips it out when I'm near some lovely cat poop or a dead squirrel or something else yummy. Gah!!! Boo on Leave It!!!

  6. Woof! Woof! What a great job you did. Leave it is such a hard command. It is just a command ... just have to deal with it for seconds and the reward is delish. Have a great weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  7. Hey Chandler,
Leave it? What's Leave It? We don't know how to play that game. Nor do we wish to learn how to play that game. We have a similiar game that we play here called "Get It."
OBTW: That is a keeper photo of you and Henry together. The mom and dad better save that one for future printing and framing.
